Google Ads Management for San Antonio Businesses

For San Antonio home-service and repair businesses selling to military households, fast-growing suburbs and a city that never runs out of visitors.

New orders just came through, and a family at Randolph needs the house patched, painted and cleaned before closing. They search on a Sunday night, and the handyman with the best reviews isn't in the results.

That isn't a reviews problem. It's timing and targeting. The ads are off on weekends, or they're spread so thin across Bexar County that the budget ran out on Thursday.

What we would do first in San Antonio

We would build a campaign around move-related work and aim it at the areas where military households live. Joint Base San Antonio is made up of three locations: Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base. The Texas Comptroller counts 74,713 direct employees there in 2025, including 33,256 active-duty personnel. A lot of those households move on orders, and a move means repairs, patching, painting, cleaning and small fixes on a deadline.

A big city that is still growing

San Antonio had 1,548,422 residents on July 1, 2025, the seventh-largest US city. It added 14,359 people in a year, the third-largest numeric gain in the country, according to the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates. greater:SATX, the regional economic development group, puts population growth at 23.3% from 2013 to 2023.

Much of that growth sits in the suburbs the same site profiles. Live Oak is a suburb of over 16,800 residents. Selma calls itself one of America's fastest-growing small towns. Cibolo is next door. Schertz sits where I-35 meets I-10. Farther out, Boerne and Kendall County are among the fastest-growing counties in Texas.

Where to aim

Schertz's spot on I-35 and I-10 makes these suburbs a natural first campaign for anyone working that side of the metro:

  1. Schertz, Cibolo, Selma and Live Oak ZIPs in one campaign, with weekend and evening hours on.
  2. The central city and areas near Fort Sam Houston and Lackland as separate campaigns, each with its own budget.
  3. Boerne and the Hill Country as an optional campaign, only if you really drive there.

Use location targeting by ZIP or city, and set your ad schedule so the ads are running when families actually plan. For move-related work that often means evenings and weekends.

Visitors are a different market

Visit San Antonio reported 37.65 million visitors in 2023, worth $21.5 billion. More than 147,000 people worked in hospitality, over 13% of all jobs in the metro. Fiesta San Antonio has already set April 15 to 25, 2027 as its dates.

If you run a restaurant, tour or event business, those visitors are your market, and a broader location setting makes sense. If you are a handyman, they are noise. Visitor searches near the River Walk can soak up a local service budget. Keep those campaigns strictly apart, and set service campaigns to reach only people who are in or regularly in your area, using Google's presence option.

Spanish-language ads

Google's language targeting page says that from September 2026, Search ads will match based on the language of your ads, and the campaign-level language setting is being removed. For San Antonio businesses that serve customers in Spanish, that makes the rule simple. If you want Spanish searches, write Spanish ads and send them to a Spanish page, with someone who can take the call in Spanish.

Local Services Ads charge per valid lead, not per click. They suit trades that fit Google's categories and have a license or insurance to show. For handyman and move-out work that mixes several small tasks, Search ads are often the better fit. You can advertise "move-out repairs and paint, Schertz" directly and send people to a page with a clear price range.

A San Antonio handyman budget, worked through

An illustration, not a forecast, using LocaliQ's 2025 home services benchmarks for handyman services: $7.10 average cost per click and 13.45% conversion rate.

  1. $1,000 a month ÷ $7.10 ≈ 141 clicks.
  2. 141 × 13.45% ≈ 19 leads.
  3. If half of those become jobs, that is about 9 jobs.
  4. $1,000 to Google + $300 management = $1,300, or about $144 per job.

When it isn't worth it yet

If you can't take a job within a week, move-related leads will go elsewhere, because their deadline won't wait. Fix capacity first. And if you only do one or two kinds of work, skip the broad handyman terms and advertise those services by name.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Google Ads management cost in San Antonio?

We charge a flat $300 a month. Ad spend is separate and is billed by Google to your own card, with no markup.

How much does Google Ads cost for a handyman in San Antonio?

LocaliQ's 2025 home services benchmarks put handyman services at an average of $7.10 per click and $54.05 per lead. Your own numbers will depend on the jobs and areas you target.

Should I run Google Ads in Spanish in San Antonio?

If you can answer the phone and quote in Spanish, test it. Google says Search ads are moving to match by the language of the ad itself, so a Spanish campaign needs Spanish ads and a Spanish landing page.
